Martin has now retired from a career in the City where he was a director of Henderson Crosthwaite Ltd, Guinness Mahon and Co Ltd and Barlows Plc. He is currently chairman of SR Europe Investment Trust Plc and Howard Investments Ltd and a director of Temple Bar Investment Trust Plc. His other interests include the Ashmolean Museum, where he is a director of the Elias Ashmole Trust.
